TAMPA, Florida – With the punch of a button – and little more – Hillsborough Co. Commissioners approved spending up to $40,000 to defend ethics complaints lodged against commissioners Ken Hagan and Sandy Murman following a 10 Investigates series exposing a controversial consultant’s behind-the-scenes influence on – and access to – county business.
The expenditure, listed in the commission’s consent agenda Wednesday, was approved without any discussion by commissioners.
