The problem with Enterprise Florida isn’t too little money. It’s too little explanation of how Enterprise Florida spends its money.
For weeks, Gov. Rick Scott has complained about legislators shorting the state’s job-recruiting agency. Scott wanted $85 million. He got just $43 million. Over the last four years, Scott has asked for $510 million. The Legislature has allocated less than half that amount, partly because of friction with the governor and partly because there’s a belief the agency has more money than it claims.
