The Kansas Sunshine Coalition for Open Government and the Kansas Attorney General’s Office will offer free training sessions on Kansas open records and open meetings laws in Oakley, Cimarron and Chanute beginning next week.
“It is important that everyone with an interest in open records and open meetings attend these panels, so they can learn firsthand how to obtain public records and their rights to attend open government meetings,” said Ron Keefover, president of the Sunshine Coalition. “We are co-presenting these meetings statewide to help government officials, as well as members of the news media, law enforcement and the general public understand their rights and responsibilities under our open government laws.”
