A day ahead of the city council meeting when a vote of no confidence could be taken in Eric Olson, the city administrator sat down on the seventh floor of city hall to give his side of the story about his call to Melanie Nichols’ boss.
In front of him on the table were emails Nichols had sent to city staff and the policy document that says federal employees shouldn’t use their work email accounts for personal business. He was two days removed from an agenda conference meeting where city council members and the public spent an hour calling his integrity into question. He had to sit quietly through most of that meeting and he’ll have to do it again Thursday night.
