FAF’s annual Sunshine Luncheon will be on February 23, 2016 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Governors Club in Tallahassee.
Tim Franklin, President of The Poynter Institute, will be the keynote speaker. Franklin joined Poynter in February 2014, after serving as managing editor of Bloomberg News in Washington. In addition to the keynote address, FAF will present 2015 Pete Weitzel/Friend of the First Amendment Awards to Lake City citizen Barbara Jeffords Lemley and Columbia County Observer Publisher Stew Lilker for their dedication to defending Florida’s open government laws. Each year at the luncheon, FAF honors past and present winners of the Pete Weitzel/Friend of the First Amendment Award.
