A conservative school boards organization is now alerting its members they might be at risk of breaking Florida’s public meetings laws by participating in the group’s closed professional development webinars. POLITICO Florida reported earlier this month that the Florida Coalition of School Board Members’ virtual trainings might be in violation of the state’s sunshine laws. The group has allowed only sitting school board members and current candidates for the locally elected offices to register for the events, denying attempts from a reporter and other “interlopers,” according to an email invitation to one event.
