A Florida Gulf Coast University committee on Tuesday selected a firm to lead the school’s search for a president, but there are some concerns about whether the firm can conduct a successful search within the confines of Florida’s Sunshine Law.
FGCU’s presidential search committee voted 11-3 in favor of Witt/Kieffer. Committee members Harry Casimir, Pamela Noland and Ken Smith voted against the firm.
Some of the committee members and FGCU board Chairman Dudley Goodlette, who sat in on the firm selection process, expressed the concerns about Witt/Kieffer. Florida’s Sunshine Law makes certain records, including those related to a presidential search, open to the public. [READ MORE]
