No one’s mic got cut off at Wednesday’s City Commission meeting, but community outrage over a first-time use of an audio kill switch to restrict personal attacks could prompt a revision to the controversial policy.
Commissioners, however, backed away from making any changes just yet. They heard from half a dozen speakers who chided them for silencing City Hall gadfly Erwin Jackson on March 12 for making what City Treasurer-Clerk Jim Cooke considered personal attacks.
