A coalition of organizations blasted Florida’s Constitution Revision Commission on Tuesday for advancing just six of more than 2,000 public submissions for amendments it had received.
Within minutes of the meeting’s adjournment, the American Civil Liberties Union of Florida, the League of Women Voters, Florida AFL-CIO and other groups released a letter strongly rebuking the commission for “a stunning rejection of the thousands of Floridians who invested considerable time and effort to share their ideas and draft proposals for improving their constitution.”
